Youth Skilled Trades Career Fair organized by the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPRDSB) and is being hosted in Alderville First Nation. 

 

June 20, 2023

CCNS Member Curtiss-Wright will be hosting an open house on June 20, 2023, from 2:00 PM- 7:00PM at their new Facility located at 450 Harry Walker Parkway S, Ontario L3Y 8E3.  

The open house includes:  

  • Food and refreshments 
  • SWAG bag for every attendee 
  • Grand prize drawing of an iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods (separately) 
  • Tours of the facility every hour 
  • Interactive display of Curtiss-Wright products and services

Location: The CCNS (1340 Pickering Pkwy, Pickering) 

Time: 10:00am- 12:00PM

HATCH will provide an overview of Approaches to Fusion and Public/Private Development Efforts.  The team will share the background on fusion, the minimum requirements for a fusion power plant, and an overview of different fusion power cycles. This will be followed by a discussion of current development efforts by governments and industry to commercialize fusion in support of net zero power production commitments.

Participants will learn about the fundamentals of coding and Computer Science in a fun environment while making their own coding creation in Scratch.

The CCNS is teaming up with Ontario Power Generation's Decommissioning and Nuclear Sustainability Services Teams for the 5th NWMDER Conference. 

You can find us at the OPG booth situated in the lobby of the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel and at The Future of Nuclear: Ensuring Sustainability and Engaging our Youth panel discussion featuring Grace Stanke, Miss America 2023.
