Indigenous Advisory Council
The Indigenous Advisory Council (IAC) was formed in 2021. Its membership represents First Nations and Métis communities, Indigenous business and Indigenous community organizations. They all serve on a volunteer basis without compensation.
The IAC assists the CCNS to provide advice and insight to CCNS on how Indigenous communities, organizations and businesses can bring Indigenous values and content into the Centre’s mandate, especially with regard to the CCNS pillars of environment, economy, innovation and community.
The CCNS plays a key role in OPG’s Reconciliation Action Plan by becoming an incubator for learning and innovation and creating new avenues for Indigenous inclusion
Pickering Community Advisory Council
The CCNS works closely with Pickering Nuclear’s Community Advisory Council (CAC) to provide advice and input to the Vice President, Nuclear Decommissioning Strategies on subjects of interest and concern to the community.
The Council has been operating since 1999. Its membership represents a large number of sectors in the community from community associations, municipal government, health, the environment, education, youth, business and members at large. All members live or work in an area from East Toronto to Ajax. They all serve on a volunteer basis without compensation.
